Dagestani rugby player – European youth champion

Makhachkala, April 6, 2015. Dagestani Abdulmanap Makhmudov with the Russia youth rugby-15 won the European championship held on March 28-April 3 in Toulouse, France, senior coach of the Dagestan rugby team Magomed Gadjimagomedov reported RIA Dagestan.

In the final, the Russian team beat Belgium 16:0. Prior to that, in the semifinals, the Russians played left no chance to team Germany 23:0 which was after they had defeated the Swedes 72:0.

"During the entire tournament the Russian team hasn’t let their opponents score a single point. The total game points score is 111:0. This is a phenomenal result. The pleasure is doubled by Abdulmanap Makhmudov’s contribution in the championship. He has written his name down into the history of Dagestan rugby becoming the first European champion ever among Dagestani youth," the coach rejoiced.

Abdulmanap Makhmudov is a trainee of Dagestan team sports school. He’s practiced rugby for not so long under the guidance of coach Kuramagomed Murtazaliev.
