A native of Dagestan, Yusup Abdusalamov has been appointed head coach of Romanian freestyle wrestling team. Abdusalamov signed an eight year contract with the national team. Since 2013, Abdusalamov has worked with the Polish national team, with which he worked for two Olympic cycles. During this time, Polish freestyle wrestlers won 27 medals at the World and European Championships. Over the previous 12 years, the Poles had won only three bronze medals at the European Championships. Abdusalamov was born in the village of Ansalta, Botlikh region, he is 44 years old. He is a silver medalist at the 2008 Beijing Olympics.
