Makhachkala, May 17, 2016. Dagestan boxer Akhmadgadzhi Rasulov took the second place at the International Youth tournament in memory of national leader of Azerbaijan Heydar Aliyev, taken place in Baku on May 9-15, the athlete's coach Murad Khizroev says.
About 140 boxers in nine weight categories from Turkey, Russia, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Finland, Hungary and Ukraine attended the tournament.
The graduate of Makhachkala Boxing Academy took the silver medal in the weight category up to 75 kg. Dagestani boxer had three fights at the tournament. Rasulov gained two victories over his rivals from Hungary and Kazakhstan, and in the final bout lost to compatriot.
Another Dagestani boxer Yusuf Khabiev, in the weight category up to 57 kg, was removed by doctors because of a hand injury after the first fight.
