Dagestan athlete sets record in tournament for prizes of Olympic champion Yelena Slesarenko

Makhachkala, December 8, 2015. Dagestan athlete Magomedov Jalil set a record in the shot put at the XII Open athletics tournament for the prizes of Olympic champion Elena Slesarenko, which took place on December 6 in Volgograd, the diector of the Children's and Youth sports school Albert Rzayev says.

Jalil pushed the shot on 14.58 meters. This was the new record for this tournament, as well as for the Republic of Dagestan in this discipline. Magomedov was the only representative of Dagestan in these competitions"- Rzayev said.

The tournament, attended by 490 young athletes born 1998-2001from different cities of Russia representing 33 teams, was held in the arena of Volgograd State Academy of Physical Culture for the 12th time.

The competition program included running athletics - 60 m / b, 60 m, 400 m, 800 m, 4x200 m relay; jumping - the length of a triple height; shot put and powerlifting (60 m, long jump, shot put).
