Tashkent, September 10, 2014. Abdulrashid Sadulayev won the world free-style wrestling champion title in the final fight with Cuba’s Reineris Salas in the 86 kg weight of the tournament taking place these days in Tashkent. On his way to the gold, he clinched the wins by technical knockouts. It's safe to say that having successfully been through a generational change, team Daghestan now has a very promising wrestler.

Previously, North Ossetia-Alania’s Hetag Tsabolov secured a gold medal for the Russian team in the 70 kg weight. Daghestani Hajjimurad Gatsalov unexpectedly defeated by an Iranian athlete was good enough in the fight for the bronze medal making another podium. Daghestani Ali Shabanov with the Belarusian team also won a bronze medal.

In general, the first day of the championships has been a good one for the Russian team. Now we are looking forward to the second day’s results.
