6th Russian Billiards Open starts in Kizlyar region

Kizlyar, March 12, 2015. The 6th Russian Billiards Open for the prizes of Olympic champion Sagid Murtazaliev is taking place these days in the Sidney billiard club in Dagestan’s Kizlyar. The tournament is organized by the Kizlyar region administration.

The event has assembled about 80 amateurs and professionals from Russian regions and CIS countries like Ukraine, Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Armenia, including world champions, world cup winners, Russian champions, and winners of international competitions: Nikita Levada, Boris Grigoriev, Alexander Sidorov, and others.

The prize fund is 1.5 million rubles, and the grand prize is a Volkswagen Polo. The tournament started on March 9 to announce the results on March 11 - Sagid Murtazaliev’s birthday.

A year after the previous tournament, the Sydney club was expanded specially for the competition since the number of participants is increasing, so the organizers even consider granting the event the status of an international tournament.
