St. Petersburg, April 30, 2015. The Wildlife Dagestan film by Mikhail Rodionov created by order of the Dagestan State Nature Reserve organization got the prize and diploma "For the best sponsored film", the press service of the North Caucasus Federal District department of the Federal Service for Supervision of Natural Resource Usage told RIA Dagestan.

The 5th Russian environmental film festival of competition films "Meridian of Hope" was held in the Rodina cinema center in St. Petersburg. The jury determined the best works which were awarded with diplomas and special prizes of the festival, made in the porcelain shop of the Smolny Institute of the Russian Academy of Education.

"In Wildlife Dagestan, the viewers saw the variety of landscapes and nature of the republic: the coast and the mountains, the sandy deserts and the subtropical forests. Interestingly, this year the film festival submitted more than a hundred films from the Russian regions, of which only thirty qualified for the contest entries.

The Russian environmental film festival "Meridian of Hope" was established in 2011 by the Federal Service for Supervision of Natural Resources and the Russian Union of Cinematographers. Each year, they submit films to compete for the prizes from all over Russia. Since 2014, the festival has featured days of children's environmental films.
