We need private investments for the development of urban infrastructure- Magomed Suleymanov

Makhachkala, June 5, 2015. Yesterday, June 5, the acting mayor of Makhachkala Magomed Suleymanov attended the 38th session of the Assembly of deputies of the municipal district "Makhachkala", the press service of the city administration reports.

The Chairman of the City Council of Deputies Abdulmumin Ibragimov opened and chaired the regular sitting attended by vice mayors, the heads of municipal districts of Makhachkala, the members of the City Youth Parliament and the heads of different departments of Mayor’s Office.

In his speech, Magomed Suleymanov, in particular, drew the attention of deputies to the existing problems in the capital. The city budget is experiencing some financial difficulties, but despite this, certain measures are taken to implement the priorities. Since the beginning of the year, the most problematic parts of the road network were repaired using 6,000 tons of asphalt. More 70 thousand tons of asphalt will be laid till the end of the year. Besides, during the regular inspection raid across the 50th anniversary of October park, the war veterans on behalf of all holidaymakers appealed to the mayor asking to asphalt walkways in the park. Magomed Suleymanov instructed to immediately put in proper order all four walking paths.

Suleymanov also announced plans to complete reconstruction of one of the main thoroughfares of Makhachkala - I. Shamil Avenue, for which the republican budget allocated 50 million rubles. In certain parts of the prospectus, the underway patching and reconstruction works had already been finished.  

During the work session, Magomed Suleymanov pointed out the urgent need to attract private investment for the development of urban infrastructure. In his words, the city administration is negotiating with businessmen who intend to invest funds in the amount of 1.5 billion rubles for the construction of housing, greenhouses, Ferris wheel and other facilities. According to the mayor, he will meet with potential investors to consider proposals to invest 4 billion rubles in the construction of shopping mall under the Makhachkala-Kaspiysk agglomeration project. The total area of the building project makes 60 thousand square meters. The new shopping center will not only provide jobs, but also bring additional revenue from the tax deductions to the city budget.
