Volgograd region delegation arrives in Daghestan

Makhachkala, August 11, 2014. Daghestan minister of national policy Alexei Gassanov met with an official delegation from Kletskaya district, Volgograd region. The delegation – head of the district Sergey Shuvaev, chairman of the district Duma Raissa Bocharova, and other officials – arrived in the republic for a friendly visit, a source in the ministry told RIA "Dagestan".

Alexei Gassanov thanked the guests for what they do to enhance and develop international relations between the regions. He noted that the Dagestan ministry of national policy and the Volgograd region leadership enjoy full understanding and very warm and friendly relations.

May, 2014, the Kletskaya district of Volgograd region and Daghestan’s Akusha region signed an agreement on establishing friendly relations and socio-economic cooperation as part of the Days of Dagestan culture in Volgograd region. The parties agreed to develop inter-municipal relations, provide support in organizing and holding fairs, exhibitions, and workshops, boost industrial and agricultural development, help each other preserve economic relations and establish new ones.

Sergey Shuvaev and Raissa Bocharova thanked the hosts for the warm welcome and noted that in Volgograd region, the Kletskaya district is home to the largest number of Daghestani – more than 400 people, mostly come from Akusha region.

The Kletskaya district delegation will participate in celebrating the 80th anniversary of Akusha region, visit the Naryn-Kala fortress in Derbent and some other sights; then the authorities will discuss the prospects of further cooperation between the 2 Russian regions.
