Makhachkala, June 26, 2014. Today, the committee on physical culture and sports of Daghestan open youth government is holding the "VELOS-2014" youth bike ride dated to the Russian Youth Day, Committee Chair Gamzat Gamzatov told RIA "Daghestan".
The bike ride aims at inspiring a sense of patriotism and respect for homeland in the younger generation. Any amateur team can take part in it. The bike ride is 7.5 km long; it starts at the monument to the Russian intelligentsia in Makhachkala 5 pm to go along the Makhachkala-Kaspiysk highway and finish on the central square of Kaspiysk.
"So far, about 20 people have enrolled for the ride, they are young people aged 14-35. Before the start, all participants must sign the regulations paper to confirm they know the rules and their responsibility for their lives and health," Gamzatov said. Daghestan open youth government will award the winners with diplomas and gifts at a ceremony to be attended by 1st Deputy Daghestan Prime Minister Anatoly Karibov.
