Makhachkala, December 7, 2015. On Saturday, December 5, the full-dress rehearsal of the concert devoted to the 2000th anniversary of founding of the city of Derbent, which will be held in Paris took place in Makhachkala Russian Drama Theater named after Gorky.

As reported, Dagestani Head Ramazan Abdulatipov attended the event. Let us remind within the period of December 14-17, the Headquarters of the Scientific United Nations Educational and Cultural Organization will host the Days of Dagestan.

The main purpose is to show the demonstrate the city of Russia as a unique monument of history, culture, architecture and archeology included into the UNESCO World Heritage List. In 2006, the city of Derbent was awarded with the Honorary Diploma of the UNESCO. There is no city of the Russian Federation with such a high award.

The UNESCO pursues the goal to contribute to peace and security by promoting cooperation among the nations through education, science and culture in order to impart universal respect for justice, the rule of law and the human rights and fundamental freedoms which are affirmed for the peoples of the world, without distinction of race, sex, language or religion, by the Charter of the United Nations.

The exhibition entitled "Culture. People. Dagestan" located in the Pas Perdus Hall of UNESCO Headquarters highlight will become the highlight of upcoming Dagestan Days in Paris.

The gala concert will complete the jubilee celebrations dedicated to the 2000th anniversary of Derbent. As a part of the musical and theatrical chronicle of thousands of "potter's wheel", there will be recreated the historical reconstruction of life, traditions and customs of inhabitants of one of the oldest cities in Russia.

The visitors will get acquainted with episodes reflecting the most significant events in Derbent history: the emergence of a familiarized with the construction of the Great Wall, the unification of the peoples speaking different languages, the birth of a distinctive and rich culture and friendship with Russia.

The two-hour show with the use of modern pictorial technologies, the 3d-projection and stereo will include the magnificent theater actors’ playing accompanied by a symphony orchestra and orchestra of folk instruments.
