The largest flag of Russia deployed in Arctic

Makhachkala, February 2, 2015. 1 pm on January 29, the Russian Public Chamber will hold a roundtable "On preparing and holding events to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the Great Victory, the Arctic-2015 project, and the project Parade of Russian Regions’ Flags.

These projects are implemented in partnership with the Russian Geographical Society with the support of the Ministry of Culture, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, and the Public Chamber Commission on culture, art, and creative, cultural and historical heritage.
The first polar expedition Living Planet will take place in April 2015 within the Arctic-2015 project. The expedition’s major social-patriotic and peacekeeping mission will be deploying the largest flag of Russia (1,052 m2) and 85 flags of Russian regions (each one 3 to 4 meters, 12 m2) at the North Pole of our country (the Borneo ice station).

The Public Chamber will host a solemn presentation of the Russian regions’ flags. Here, Dagestan will be represented by Dagestani member of the Russian Public Chamber Aigun Magomedov and Deputy Dagestan Envoy at the Russian President Hadjimurat Kazhlaev.
