Surgery department of Children's Hospital opens after repair in Dagestan

Makhachkala, November 18, 2016. The department of elective surgery of the Republican Children's Clinical Hospital (RCCH) named after N.M.Kuraev, has opened on Friday, November 18 in Makhachkala.  After the major overhaul the number of beds almost doubled. The official solemn opening ceremony has been attended by the Public Health Minister of Dagestan Tanka Ibrahimov and the head of the republican branch of the Federal Service for Surveillance on Consumer Rights Protection and Human Wellbeing Eleanora Omarieva, the representative of Public Health Ministry RD Zalina Murtazalieva says.

"The overhaul was launched six months ago. During the reconstruction, the wards which formerly housed five or six patients have been redesigned into comfortable double and triple premises -. Murtazalieva said. If earlier the department was designed for 30 beds, but now, after the renovation, there is 55 beds, 15 of which for the newborns. Apart from routine treatment, the department will host children with cancer. "

According to the chief physician of the hospital Sirazhudin Mahachev, in total 1.5 thousand surgical operations are carried out per year. As to the Public Health Minister, this was the sixth medical department overhauled within the past three years in the hospital.

The Children's Republican Clinical Hospital is the largest among the regional children's hospitals. It provides organizational, methodological, medical advice and specialized medical care for children from the republic and the surrounding areas.
