Spring Festival "Nowruz - 2014" celebrated in Moscow

Moscow, March 25, 2014. A spring holiday “Nowruz – 2014” is celebrated on the day of the astronomical Northward equinox, which usually occurs on March 21. The celebration of Nowruz took place in the concert hall "Russia" in the Luzhniki Stadium in Moscow on March 22, the Permanent Representation of Daghestan at the Russian Federation President reports.

The event, being initiated by the Department of inter-regional cooperation, national policy and relations with religious organizations of Moscow with participation of the Permanent Representation of Daghestan at the Russian Federation President is held for seventh times in Moscow.

The spring festival was attended by the representatives of peoples that traditionally celebrate Nowruz such as Tatars, Uzbeks, Bashkirs, Tajiks, Kyrgyz, Kazakhs, Turkmens, Turks, Kurds, Azeris, and other peoples of Daghestan.The republic of Daghestan was represented by  the Deputy Permanent Representative of Daghestan Khadzhimurat Kazhlaev.

The memorable gala concert with participation of the Russian well-known popular singers such as Lev Leshchenko, Hasan Haydarov, Nohid Zeynalpur, the participant of the TV project “Golos” on the First Channel Farid Askerov, the band "Zaman" and others has become the main event of the festival.
Having performed the ancient ethnic dances "Kovha" and "My Daghestan", the honored dance ensemble "Virtuosos of Daghestan - Happy Childhood" worthily presented Dagestan.  

Besides, the guests got familiarized with the national crafts fair, where they saw the works of folk craftsmen and artisans arts of every nation and also tasted the national dishes.
