Russian journalists to lay ethnic and cultural routes in Dagestan

Makhachkala, October 6, 2015. A group of federal mass media representatives led by the well-known journalist Mikhail Kozhukhov arrived in Dagestan to study the possibilities of tourist and recreational potential and the creation of specialized ethnic and cultural routes, Dagestan Tourism Committee official informs.

The republican Tourism Committee together with the federal tour operator "Travel Club Mikhail Kozhukhov" developed an ethno-cultural route, which will be thoroughly studied during their 7-days stay in Dagestan. Even today, the journalists got familiarized with the sights of the ancient city, visited the citadel Naryn-Kala and the others sights of Derbent (the Juma Mosque, the Museum of world cultures and religions, the Armenian church of the Holy Saviour, the Orthodox Church of the Holy Virgin and the synagogue).

The delegation also got familiarized with the exhibits of the house-museum of Peter the Great and Alexander Bestuzhev-Marlinsky. In one of the courtyards of the old town, the members of Kozhukhov Club had a tea party. Journalists also tasted wines at Derbent Brandy Factory and the factory of sparkling wines. The guests participated in the master classed demonstrating the features of the national production of traditional dishes in Southern Dagestan.

As previously reported, the popular journalist and traveler Mikhail Kozhukhov intends to create a new tourist route, which will show the life of Dagestanis from the inside, with its specific national color, to demonstrate Dagestan tourism with the variety of historical and cultural objects to the world. In Kozhukhov’s opinion, Dagestan can be interesting even to the most sophisticated tourists.

The correspondents of the popular magazines "Discovery", "Ogonyok", "Cozy sky", "Rest in Russia", "Around the World", "Strana.ru,"The news agency "Interfax", "Komsomolskaya Pravda "and" Moskovsky Komsomolets accompanied Kozhukhov in the trip across Dagestan.
