Makhachkala, July 19, 2017. An official opening ceremony of the ethnographic composition "Russian Hut" took place, representing the traditional Russian way of life has taken place in Makhachkala House of Friendship of the Peoples of Russia.

The composition presents the interior of the Russian log hut of the pre-revolutionary period: a red corner with an icon, a table covered with a tablecloth with a samovar and dishes, a chest with clothes, etc. The mannequin sitting on the bench gives an approximate idea of the traditional Russian costume. The exposition "Russian Hut" is a continuation of the work on the creation of ethnic compositions in the Museum of Friendship of the Peoples of Russia.

In spring, the ethnographic composition "Saklya" dedicated to the traditional mountain dwelling was created. The presentation was attended by the Minister for National Policy of Dagestan Tatyana Gamaley. The top official recommended the museum administration to continue the work on the formation of different expositions, to take into account the peculiarities of Russian life in Dagestan and to think over the direction of replenishment of the museum's funds.
