Makhachkala, April 27, 2015. The 12th Russian conference "Problems of Russian consciousness: historical memory of the nation" was held April 23-24 at Dagestan State University.

"The problem posed by the conference is critical for developing the federation as a whole, and the North Caucasus in particular. Interestingly, the forum was held shortly before a momentous event in the life of the nation - the 70th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War. The victory over fascism is an event of global significance. Any attempts to rewrite the outcome of this war insult the memory of our heroes. Resisting them in theory and practice is the challenge posed to the scientists and politicians," said the DSU rector.

The interest in the topic of the conference was showed by philosophers, historians, sociologists, political scientists, linguists, and experts of legal and economic sciences. More than 38 doctors, 30 candidates of science, 40 researchers, students and masters from Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan and Turkey made their reports here.

On Friday, they will hold a visiting session of the conference dedicated to the 2000th anniversary of Derbent on the premises of the department of the UNESCO Chair of comparative studies of spiritual traditions, specifics of their culture and interreligious dialogue in the North Caucasus. Today they will summarize the conference and have the final plenary session.
