Makhachkala, January 19, 2020. In February 2020 the divers from Moscow, St. Petersburg, Perm, and Belgium will clear the bottom of the high-altitude lake Kezenoy-Am in Chechnya and scan it to create a map. This was reported to mass media by director of the local resort Uni Uspanov.

“We plan to hold an action in February with divers from Belgium, Moscow, Perm and St. Petersburg. We set three tasks: cleaning the lake from the effects of wars, detecting Eisenam trout and scanning the bottom to create a map with all the gorges, depressions and caves of the lake. Besides, we will seek confirmation of the legend about the ancient village flooded at the bottom of the lake" - Uspanov noted.

Kezenoy -Am is the largest alpine lake in the Northern Caucasus, located on the border of Chechnya and Dagestan at an altitude of 1,869 m above sea level. The basin of the lake has steep slopes and a flat bottom. The depth of the lake reaches a minimum of 74 m, but there are hollows, the exact depth of which is still not fixed. The length of the lake from north to south is 2 km, and from west to east - 2.7 km
