Reserve "Dagestan" to build nursery for vultures

Makhachkala, December 6, 2016. The World Wildlife Fund (WWF) is expected to allocate grant to the nature reserve "Dagestan" for the creation of a "nursery for the vultures", which will feed rare species of birds: vultures, gier eagles and black vultures.

200 entrepreneurs of the Russian community "Youth Business" gave money for the birds’ nursery in the amount of 1.3 million rubles. "Fortunately, the entrepreneurs expressed desire to give part of their incomes to charity" – the co-founder of the organization Peter Osipov said.

Besides, the Fund will distribute approx. 8 million rubles which WWF has received from partners and participants among the nature reserves and national parks - the head of the WWF biodiversity conservation programs of Russia, Vladimir Krever noted.

Totally, about 69 applications were submitted. The experts recognized the best only nine projects in six categories. For these projects there will be allocated from 470 thousand to 1.5 million rubles.
