Representatives of the Board of AMM NCFD meet with Dagestan journalists

Makhachkala, April 28, 2015. The day before, the conference hall of the RIA "Dagestan" hosted a meeting of representatives of the Mass Media Association of the North Caucasian Federal District with the heads and chief editors of the republican editions. The head of press service of Dagestani Head and governmental administration Tamara Chinenaya, the Minister of Press and Information RD Aznaur Adzhiev, the chairman of the Union of Journalists RD Ali Kamalov and others attended the meeting.

The guest delegation included: the head of the North Caucasian Association of Journalists Razhap Musayev, the political commentator of the Center for Modern Caucasian Politics "Caucasus" Igor Cheresiz, the journalist of Chechen State Broadcasting Company "Grozny" Dmitri Efremov, the director of the news agency "Grozny-Inform" Ali Temirkhanov, the editor in chief of the North Ossetian newspaper "Word" Albina Olisaeva and others.

Opening the meeting, director of the RIA "Dagestan" Magomed Magomedov heartily welcomed and thanked the guests for the visit and gave the floor to Razhap Musayev. Musayev, in turn, said that a month ago the North Caucasus Media Association initiated a project under which the Association representatives would monthly meet with the heads of the North Caucasian regions.

"Today we met with Dagestani Head Ramazan Abdulatipov. We had a very productive and interesting conversation. We discussed many topical and sensitive issues. With regard to our organization, it is still very young, we work only the second year and our main task is to consolidate forces to achieve results on the development of the Northern Caucasus "- Razhap Musayev confessed.

Igor Cheresiz spoke about the work of the organization – CMCP "Caucasus" and the interaction with the MMA NCFD. According to Cheresiz, another goal of the tandem is promote positive image of the North Caucasian region as a whole and each republic separately.

The republican Minister of Press and Information Aznaur Adzhiev stressed the importance of the fact that the members of the Mass Media Association are professional journalists. "My teacher Garun Kurbanov used to say that a journalist has to live with a sense of self-censorship. Kurbanov explained that in his opinion, the world is full of negativity and positive things and events often goes by the wayside. Today, the Mass Media Association is supervising this process. Joint efforts of all the media will push us forward to achieve bigger results. It is gratifying that the CMCP "Caucasus" and the MMA NCFD work together to break the stereotypes that stuck to the North Caucasian region"- Adzhiev added.

The Minister also called for support for all the information trends in Dagestan, namely the Gardening Year, the Year of Literature, the anniversary of the city of Kizlyar, and invited the representatives of both organizations to celebrate the 2000th anniversary of the city of Derbent. "Last year, we signed a memorandum of co-operation among the media of the Northern Caucasus. Today, the work done on implementation of the document is not sufficient and I would like to intensify the work in each region of the North Caucasian Federal District".

During the meeting it was also decided to accelerate the publication of materials from other republics. "In many regions of the North Caucasian Federal District the materials from other republics are published with a delay of a day or two then surely losing their relevance and actuality" - Adzhiev concluded.
