Representatives of Dagestan diaspora lay flowers to monuments of Amet-Khan Sultan and Nabi Amintaev in Moscow

It has become an established longstanding tradition that the representatives of Dagestan diaspora gather in Novodevichy Cemetery in Moscow to lay flowers to the monuments of the Hero of the Soviet Union Amet-Khan Sultan and the multiple world champion, the well-known parachute systems tester, Guard Lieutenant Colonel Nabi Amintaev.

At the cemetery, a few dozen Dagestanis - people of different ages, the youngsters and the gray-haired veterans gathered to take part in the annual traditional ceremony with armfuls of various flowers. The deputy Permanent Representative of the Republic of Dagestan at the Russian President Khadzhimurat Kazhlaev and the president of Moscow cultural center "Dagestan" Arsen Guseynov coordinated the meeting.

First, all the participants moved to the tomb of Nabi Amintaev. After the flowers laying ceremony Arsen Guseynov acted with a solemn speech. He reminded the audience that Amintaev made 1646 jumps that in 1945 was considered a world record, and became one of the first Dagestanis awarded with the Order of Lenin.
Then the procession moved to the monument at the grave of the distinguished test pilot, the twofold Hero of the Soviet Union, Amet-Khan Sultan.

Arsen Guseynov said that during the war Dagestan pilot alone knocked 30 enemy aircrafts and 19 aircraft in the group, made one ram and destroyed many military vehicles by bombing. After the Great Patriotic War, Amet-Khan Sultan worked as a test pilot having investigated about hundred aircrafts.
