Rector of Dagestan State University takes part in meeting of NCFD Rector Council

Magas, Ingushetia, December 19, 2014. The Rector of Dagestan State University Murtazali Rabadanov attended a meeting of the Rector Council of the North Caucasus Federal District taking place in the Ingush capital Magas on December 16 to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Ingush State University, the university’s press service told RIA Dagestan.

The event also brought together Russian Minister on North Caucasus Affairs Lev Kuznetsov, Deputy Russian President’s Envoy in the North Caucasian Federal District Mikhail Vedernikov, and Ingushetia Head Yunus-Bek Yevkurov. Participants assembled in the new university library to discuss the role and prospects of modern universities in Russia and all around the globe.

Lev Kuznetsov congratulated Ingush State University Rector Arsamak Martazanov on the university’s anniversary and noted, "I am happy to see a quality higher education system being formed in the youngest region of the Russian Federation. Our president in his annual address to the nation emphasized the role of the education system in the country. It is important that we train specialists rather than just confer diplomas."

In the opening speech, Ingushetia Head Yevkurov wished NCFD rectors good fruitful work and noted that Ingushetia had been constantly working with students from local universities and colleges from other cities.

DSU Rector Murtazali Rabadanov also congratulated the university and stressed they needed to improve the competitiveness of North Caucasian universities and emphasized the role in educational cooperation at the international level.
