Rector of Dagestan Humanities Institute participates in Muslim forum in Moscow

Moscow, December 12, 2014. Rector of Dagestan Institute of Humanities Magomed Magomedov takes part in the 10th International Islamic Forum "Religion’s mission and believers’ responsibility in face of today’s challenges" which is underway in the Ritz-Carlton Moscow hotel December 10-12, the press service of the institute told RIA Dagestan. Magomedov will make reports at two scientific conferences held within the forum.

The forum is organized by the Russian Spiritual Board of Muslims, the Russian Mufti Council, the International Union of Muslim Scholars, the Turkish Ministry of Religious Affairs, the Russian Commission for UNESCO, the Asia and Africa Institute of the Moscow State University, the Faculty of Oriental Studies of the St. Petersburg State University, the Moscow Islamic Institute, the Al-Mustafa International University, the Foundation for Supporting Islamic Science, Culture and Education, and the Medina media holding.

The officials to speak at the opening ceremony were Chairman of the Russian Spiritual Board of Muslims Mufti Sheikh Ravil Hazrat Gaynutdin, general secretary of the World Union of Muslim scholars (Doha, Qatar) Sheikh Ali Al-Mukhiddin Karadagi, chairman of the Synodal Department on church and society interaction, member of the Russian President’s Council on Cooperation with Religious Associations (Moscow, Russia) Vsevolod Chaplin, Rector of the Al-Mustafa International University who is a member of the Iran’s Supreme Council of Cultural Revolution and President of the International Centre for Islamic Studies (Qom, Iran) Ali-Reza Arafi.

The first day of the forum featured panel discussions on "Spiritual and moral values of Abrahamic religions and Eurasian vector of civilization development", "Eurasian integration and Islamic world: Muslims’ responsibility and potential", and "State’s interaction with religious organizations for the benefit of society’s sustainable development".
