Makhachkala, September 2, 2014. Activists from the "Institute of Information Community Development" launched a public awareness campaign named "We need peaceful Daghestan" 2 days ahead of the Day of Anti-terrorism Solidarity celebrated September 3, on the 10th anniversary of the Beslan tragedy.

The young people stuck labels on car windshields with owners’ consent and handed out information flyers.  This is no novelty – the first "We need peaceful Daghestan" campaign took place in 2009.

"Our goal is to prevent tragedies like that by daily fighting barbaric ideas the terrorists practise," said activist Dzhabrail Amirov. In the near future, the young people plan to make digital library of anti-terrorist and anti-extremist teaching materials to be distributed to Daghestan educational institutions with support of the Russian Federal Agency of Youth Affairs and Daghestani ministries of education and press.
