Makhachkala, April 20, 2014. A piece of Holy Fire has been delivered to Makhachkala from Jerusalem. A plane with the piece of fire from the Holy Sepulchre in Jerusalem taken on April 19, landed at the Makhachkala airport at 12 o'clock.

Half an hour later, the Holy Fire was taken to the Holy Dormition Cathedral - the main and the only Orthodox church in Makhachkala. Here, at the door of the temple, the clergy and parishioners met the fire brought in a special oil-lamp like those used to transport the Olympic flame.

Everyone could get a piece of the Holy Fire. It quickly lit the candles and lamps of participants of the sacred procession. It’s been 8 years since the Holy Fire was first brought to Daghestan.

According to the source, the fire will be delivered to all other Daghestan Orthodox churches from Makhachkala.
