Makhachkala, April 25, 2018. The Personalized Medicine Center with a PCR laboratory has opened today in the Research Institute of Ecology at Dagestan State Medical University, the press service reports.

The University specialists will conduct genetic studies and study the genetic characteristics of different ethnic groups. The grand opening ceremony has been timed for the Day of DNA, which is traditionally celebrated on April 25.
According to DSMU rector Suleiman Mammayev, the PCR diagnostics allows to study all the genetic peculiarities, to detect the breakdown of the DNA gene structure and to conduct many other scientific studies.

"The laboratory will allow us to conduct a lot of fundamental researches. For their implementation, it is planned to actively involve grant support. We have an experienced personnel for the work in the new laboratory" - Mammayev is quoted saying.
