Pancake Day to be celebrated in Makhachkala

Makhachkala, February 20, 2017. On February 21 the Russian State Drama Theater in Makhachkala will host the traditional festival "Mardi Gras". The feast, celebrated annually in Makhachkala, symbolizes the end of winter and the beginning of spring. The Pancake week starts on February 20 and ends on February 26. A special Pancake Fair has kicked off today at 14.00 at the site of the Russian Theater. The creative teams and singers from Kizlyar, Tarumovsky district of Kizlyar, Makhachkala, Khasavyurt, Dagestanskie Ogny will perform for guests in every of six-day festival.
