Makhachkala, May 25, 2015. Some NCFD regions and almost all cities and regions of Dagestan got involved in preparations for Derbent’s historic anniversary, said participants of a large-scale press conference held as part of the joint Derbent-2000 project of the NCFD Media Association and skfo.ru. The journalists' questions were answered by head of Derbent-2000 organizing committee Ali Nurmagomedov.

The event was attended by Dagestan minister of press and information Aznaur Adjiev, minister of culture Zarema Butaeva, members of the NCFD Media Association, and North Caucasian bloggers.

Participants were interested in the progress of implementing the Derbent-2000 project, in particular, celebration activities. Ali Nurmagomedov said that the neighboring regions offer a great help in preparing for the holiday. Specifically, Stavropol region chose to reconstruct of one of the streets of the city. Plus, every Dagestan region is involved in preparations for the anniversary of the city.

Aznaur Adzhiev urged journalists and bloggers to actively promote the Derbent-2000 project to the public. Journalists are the ones who can create a positive image of Derbent.

"Derbent is a Russian city. Celebration of its anniversary is a great pride for the country whose people have been able to save all that. This is the way you might tell about it to your readers, listeners and viewers," the minister appealed.
