New Center for Russian Language and Culture of Dagestan opens in Makhachkala
The Minister of National Policy of the Republic of Dagestan Tatyana Gamaley, the executive secretary of the Government Commission for problems of the Russian-speaking population Natalya Evseeva, the deputy Chairman of the Union of Writers of the Republic of Dagestan, the People's Poet RD Marina Ahmedova- Kolyubakina, the representatives of ministries and departments, mass media, volunteers, etc. attended the event.
In her speech, the director of the Center Larisa Kukanova spoke about the activities of the new organization and expressed gratitude to the Ministry for National Policy of the Republic of Dagestan, the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Dagestan, the Ministry for Land, Property Relations and Trade of the Republic of Dagestan for supporting the ides to open the Center.
According to Kukanova, the main objectives of the Center is the implement the national policy in the Republic of Dagestan, to contribute to the formation of all-Russian civil identity, to strengthen the unity of the Russian nation and the ethno-cultural development of the peoples of Russia.
"We are trying to create such conditions for the favorable living of Russians, in order to reduce the outflow of the Russian population from Dagestan," she noted. In turn, Tatyana Gamaley told about the idea of creating the Russian Language and Culture Center and noted the importance of this work for the multinational republic.
"Russia, like a hundred years ago, is still looking for a national idea, what makes us closer. And what brings us together is the Russian language. The center of the Russian language and culture serves precisely the ideas of rapprochement of peoples, "the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Dagestan said.
Natalya Evseeva cited a grateful letter from the Governmental Commission on the problems of the Russian-speaking population for the ongoing cultural and educational activities, improvement and harmonization of interethnic relations.
