Makhachkala, December 7, 2017. A documentary film about specially protected natural territories of Dagestan will be shot within a grant project supported by the President of the Russian Federation, the head of the non-profit organization Islam Magomedov is quoted saying.

In total, 46 natural territories are located on the territory of Dagestan, which have the status of specially protected one. Six of them are of federal significance. Among them - one of the deepest canyons in the world - the Sulak canyon.

Besides, the grant funds will be spent to publish the popular scientific book "Actual problems of the specially protected natural areas", materials for which will be collected within the framework of the contest.

More than 40 applications have been sent from Dagestan to receive grants from the President of the Russian Federation in the field of civil society development, family support, public health protection, the interethnic and religious harmony strengthening activity and the wild animals protection.
