Makhachkala, February 15, 2020. The mayor of Derbent Khizri Abakarov posted an info on his Instagram page to report about intention to build a multidisciplinary hospital in the city.

According to the website of city administration, the mayor of Derbent met yesterday, February 13, with the director general of Aurum LLC Alexander Bondarev, as well as the representatives of the Public Health Ministry of the Republic of Dagestan to discuss issues related to the construction of a new modern multi-disciplinary hospital.

It is noted that it is planned to “carry out construction at the expense of the federal targeted investment program” after the design  finalized and the experts’ opinion received.  As to Abakarov, all the residents of municipal district will be able to receive high-quality medical care in the new multifunctional hospital. All units will be located inside the hospital and patients will not have to spend time moving from one unit to another which will create convenience for the patients.

According to the mayor of Derbent, at the very moment "the work is in the pre-design stage." Currently, there is only one Central City Hospital in Derbent operating in the typical building since 1975.
