Mufti of Dagestan meets with Ravil Gainutdin in Moscow

Moscow, May 15, 2015. Yesterday, Chairman of the Russian Council of Muftis, Chairman of the Russian Muslim Religious Board Mufti Sheikh Ravil Gainutdin met with Dagestan Mufti Akhmad-Hajji Abdulayev at the residence of the head of the Russian Muftis Council located in the Moscow Cathedral Mosque.

The meeting was also attended by Rector of Dagestan Islamic University Magomed-Hajji Abdulaev, first deputy chairman of the Russian Muftis Council Rushan-Hazrat Abbyasov, and adviser to the chairman of Russian Muftis Council Hezbulla-Hazrat Assuev. The muftis exchanged views on the processes taking place in the spiritual and moral spheres, discussed the results their joint activities like "Mawlid al-Nabi" and some others, and outlined plans for joint cooperation for the near future. Mufti Ravil Gainutdin thanked Sheikh Akhmad-Hajji Abdulaev for the support with holding "Mawlid al-Nabi" in Moscow and the opportunity to show there a greatest relic - the Prophet Muhammad’s hair (peace be upon him).

Ravil Gainutdin spoke about the progress of building the Moscow Cathedral Mosque. The thanked everyone assisting in the construction and noted that it will be one of the most beautiful mosques in the world and its opening will be the greatest event for all. The official opening is scheduled for May 2016 with inviting guests from around the world.

Akhmad-Hajji Abdulayev stressed the importance of mosques in the lives of believers. He said that Dagestanis have been awarded the great honour to have a grand Islamic center erected in the republic. Regional authorities made a gift to believers have earmarked a vast land for the construction of the religious complex.

After the official meeting, the guests saw the capital construction in process, and they were pleasantly surprised by the scale of the work done.
