Moscow to host "Derbent, Dagestan, Russia" exhibition

Makhachkala, October 23, 2015. On November 3, the State Historical Museum on Red Square in Moscow will host the exhibition "Derbent, Dagestan, Russia."
The exhibition consists of five sections, reflecting the main milestones in the history of Dagestan. The "Antiquity" includes pieces of bronze and pottery.

In the "Middle Ages" section, the interiors of the highland hut was recreated. The "XVIII Century" section represents the visit of Emperor Peter I to Derbent. The exhibition organizers recreate the everyday life of the ancient city - the "crossroads" of nationalities and religions, a big commercial center on the Silk Road.

The commercial role of Derbent is perfectly depicted in the “market” exposition. The last section tells about modern Dagestan.

The presentation will begin with a five-minute video about the republic. The visitors will also be able to get familiarized with the works of Dagestan art.
