More than 206 thousand trees have been planted in Dagestan as part of the all-Russian campaign “Save Forests” this year. "During the period of the action, more than 206 thousand young trees have been planted in the republic, including 2,500 trees on the lands of municipalities and more than 200 thousand on the forest lands," the statement on the website of Dagestan Forestry Committee says.

This year, 250 pine and birch seedlings were planted in Dagestani village of Novo-Kuli, and most of all new trees - 2,000 seedlings each - appeared in Nogaisky, Tsumadinsky, Tsuntinsky and Karabudakhkent municipal districts.

During the event, the activists also cleared the area from garbage. According to the republican authorities, 202,000 new trees were planted in Dagestan last year. The all-Russian campaign "Save the Forest" is being implemented within the framework of the federal project "Conservation of Forests" of the national project "Ecology". This year it was held in the country for the third time.
