Makhachkala, August 20, 2019. Dagestan Tourism mobile application, with all the necessary information for tourists coming to the republic, is planned to be launched in the region by the end of 2019. This will be the first such program among the subjects of the North Caucasian Federal District (NCFD), Rasul Ibragimov, the Minister for Tourism and Folk Arts of Dagestan, told on Tuesday.

“The application is almost launched, it is called “Dagestan tourism”. I have not seen such a guide in the North-Caucasian Federal District. It contains all the information about food places, hotels, routes, shops, beauty salons, the objects of cultural heritage, contacts and telephones. We think that by the end of the year it will have been finished and launched" - Ibragimov said.

Ibragimov added that the application will be available to users of Android and iOS. While it works in test mode, the work is underway to fill it with information. "Its launch will help to increase the tourist inflow to the republic. It will become easier for the tourist to navigate. We are making the program work without the Internet" – the minister said.

According to Ibragimov, in the future it is planned to introduce an audio guide into the application. This will work in conjunction with the geolocation. Ibragimov noted if a tourist passes the Sulak canyon (1920 meters depth), his place is determined automatically and the program begins to tell him about the sights.
