The public healthcare organizations of Dagestan received new medical vehicles delivered to the region as part of the program for modernization of the primary health care units.

On August 11 the acting head of the region Sergey Melikov handed over the keys to 27 special vehicles to the chief doctors of medical institutions from more than 20 cities and districts of Dagestan.

The top official noted that the delivery of new transport is a good assistance for the implementation of not only measures to modernize primary health care system but also, in general, to improve medical care for citizens, especially in rural areas.

In total, it is planned to equip medical institutions of Dagestan with 177 units of special transport this year. In general, over 6.5 billion rubles will be allocated to modernize the primary health care sector in the region in 2021-2025. Over the years, it is planned to equip medical organizations with about 700 vehicles.
