Love for wrestling pulls American Indian to Daghestan

Makhachkala, April 16, 2014. American Indian descent Mitchell Miller dreams to come to Daghestan. The young guy, being confined to a wheelchair and living on the other side of the globe, is impatient to visit Daghestan. The reason that American wants to pay a visit to the Land of Mountains is an ardent love for wrestling. According to Miller Daghestani school is the most powerful in the world.

"I am more interested in this kind of sport. Of course, it is very difficult for me, but the wrestling is my life - he says. - I am very upset and even cried when wrestling was set to be dropped from the program of the Olympic Games."

Mitchell’s idol is a triple Olympic champion Buvaisar Saitiev.  Having read the biography of the eminent Daghestani sportsman, American first learned of Daghestan. Besides, a big fan of wrestling just wants to tell Daghestanis about the culture and traditions of his people.

However, for a number of reasons, Miller can’t come to the republic for he has the problem of obtaining Russian visa.

"I would like to come now, but I need help with a visa for one year and a trip to Daghestan. I want to see and make acquaintance with this glorious republic, to make friends with Daghestani sportsmen and to get an opportunity to train with them. To obtain a visa, I need to get from Daghestani side a letter of invitation. Besides, I am a representative of indigenous people of America, American Indian, and in this respect I see the opportunity for cultural exchange, which may be useful, to bring together the peoples of the Republic of Daghestan and the indigenous peoples of the America, the Indians"- Miller in an interview for affixnews.ru said.

As it turns out Miller has kept his fences mended with many Daghestanis for a long time through the Internet. Specially created a group “Mitchell Miller –falling in love with the wrestling” by Daghestani friends in social network «facebook» urges to help youth in obtaining Russian visa.

Miller’s relatives and friends also support his initiative to visit Daghestan: "My family knows that I want to go to Daghestan. They support and are proud of me. Despite the fact that I have grown up in a wheelchair, I am interested in sports. Of course, they have a little afraid for my safety but not me".
