Khizri Shihsaidov visits Center of Cardiology and Cardiovascular Surgery

Makhachkala, July 17, 2015. Today, the Chairman of the Legislative Assembly of the Republic of Dagestan Khizri Shihsaidov visited Dagestan Center of Cardiology and Cardiovascular Surgery.

Khizri Shihsaidov examined the X-ray operating room, where X-ray coronary angiography and endovascular surgery is performed, a staffroom and the other clinical departments, got acquainted with the storage conditions of medicines and consumables. Then, the parliament speaker spoke to the patients being treated at the center, asked them about drug supply and the quality of specialized and high-tech medical care.

Then director of the Center Osman Mahachev voiced the main issues to be solved this year. Noteworthy, the Russian Federation President Vladimir Putin suggested 2015 to be a year of fighting cardiovasculardiseases, performing with an annual address to the Federation Council.

In 2015 for the first time in the North Caucasus Federal District the medical institution carried out a new diagnostic study – the intravascular ultrasound examination of coronary vessels in patients with coronary artery disease and successfully performed new surgery - the subclavian artery stenting and balloon valvuloplasty valve stenosis of the pulmonary artery. According to doctors, currently, the most pressing issue of the Centre is the operational modernization of intensive care units, which will perform at the Center for high-tech surgery with cardiopulmonary bypass: coronary artery bypass grafting, correction of congenital and acquired heart defects and others.

Khizri Shihsaidov approved the changes taking place in the center, and said that the republican leadership will attach all efforts to update technical equipment and contribute to the development of the Centre in the future.
