International Political Science Forum "Russian Caucasus" to be held in Daghestan

Makhachkala, July 23, 2014. The international political science forum "Russian Caucasus" is going to be held in Daghestan in mid-September, 2014, a source in the ministry of national policy reported RIA "Daghestan". Today, deputy Daghestan Prime Minister Ramazan Dzhafarov chaired the first meeting of the forum’s organizing committee. The chairman focused on conceptual and organizational issues of holding the forum and on the duties allocated among the committee members.

"It’ a great job aimed at improving the image of Daghestan. It allows us to analyze Daghestan society’s development, determine the stage we are in, and show our recent years’ achievements. At the forum, we plan to discuss topical issues relating to political processes taking place in the Caucasus. It is important that we prepare good for holding the forum on Daghestan soil," said deputy Daghestan minister of national policy Zikrula Ilyassov.

Rector of Daghestan Institute of Economics and Politics Abdul-Nassir Dibirov informed that the forum will feature several discussion platforms in Makhachkala, Derbent, Buynaksk, and mountainous Akhvakh region. There’ll also be a political science school named "Kaspiy" inviting young political scientists for participation.

At the forum, leading Russian political scientists and sociologists will give lectures to the students of the political science school. Basing on the forum outcome, they plan to publish a few thematic collections and forum’s reports in history, ethno-political and socio-economic problems, combating extremism and terrorism, and other Caucasus-related issues. In Moscow, they’ll publish a multi-author book of the forum’s best works.

Following the meeting, the minister Dzhafarov gave appropriate instructions to the organizing committee members and executive agencies involved in preparing for the forum, taking into account the ideas proposed ​​at the meeting.
