Makhachkala, September 22, 2019. The international conference on chemistry, which brought together 180 participants, was held in Dagestan on September 17-18. This was announced on Wednesday by the doctor of pedagogical sciences Marat Akhmetov, the author of textbooks on chemistry of the Russian Textbook Corporation, which was one of the event organizers.

"About 180 people from different countries, including Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, the United Arab Emirates, took part in the chemistry conference in Dagestan" - Akhmetov said. The scientist noted that the conference was devoted to both the problems of chemical science and the issues of teaching chemistry in schools and universities.

In particular, one of the problems discussed at the conference was the lack of funding for school chemistry experiments. "The problem is that schools are municipal educational organizations and the municipalities do not always have such financing opportunities. In this connection, the participants expressed their wishes that the state should participate in solving the problem".

Besides, the conference attendees considered the lack of personnel in rural schools, the problem of textbooks associated with a sharp change in the federal list of textbooks, and the others. As a result of the event, a collection with the main reports of the conference was released. According to Akhmetov, its contents will be available online in the database of the Russian Science Citation Index.

The conference was organized by Dagestan Institute for Educational Development, Dagestan Pedagogical University and the Russian Textbook Corporation. The conference was timed to coincide with the International Day of the periodic table.
