II North-Caucasian Media Forum kicks off in Pyatigorsk

Makhachkala, December 5, 2014. II North-Caucasian Media Forum "Public opinion on the Caucasus" has launched in Pyatigorsk. About 350 participants and guests, including a delegation fr om Dagestan, headed by the first deputy minister of press and information Zubairu Zubayruev participated in the forum.

There has been allocated a platform for Dagestan wh ere guests and participants of the forum can not only acquaint with the print, television and online media in Dagestan, watch films about the oldest city in Russia – Derbent but also learn about the project "Derbent - 2000" devoted to the anniversary of the city. The participants and guests will also get an opportunity to make a "virtual photography" on the background of Derbent fortress Naryn-Kala.

The RIA "Dagestan" provides everyone a virtual visit to Derbent, using a special technology within the exhibition. As it was reported, the first hour of the exhibition, Dagestan exposition attracted more than 100 people.

It should be noted that Dagestan introduced 20 ethnic newspapers, three magazines, books written in languages of the peoples of the North Caucasus, two television channels within the forum.

According to the organizer of the event - Centre for Contemporary Caucasian policy "Caucasus", the main aim of the project is to secure an adequate approach to the Caucasus, establish a local media community and improve the region's ties with other parts of Russia.
