Makhachkala, January 31, 2018. Rosobrnadzor (Federal Service for Supervision in Education and Science) plans to arrange work to improve the quality of education in Dagestan universities, the number of which in recent years has been halved. This was reported by the Deputy Minister of Education and Science of the Russian Federation, the head of Rosoboradzor Sergei Kravtsov in Makhachkala, where on Monday the meeting on improving the preparation and conduct of the exam in the region was held.

"Those universities that provide qualitative education will continue their work. This is our main task. We will conduct work to improve the quality of education, so that there were no bribes and contractual examinations and sessions and that students could receive better knowledge" - Kravtsov said.

According to him Kravtsov, the reduction in the number of universities is not an end in itself.

As reported earlier, in recent years more than half of 63 universities and their branches in Dagestan have been reduced. "In Dagestan, 63 universities and branches did not operate adequately.  Most of them just issued diplomas" Kravtsov said at the regular sitting of the State Duma Committee on Education and Science in Makhachkala in October 2017.
