Dagestan Humanitarian Institute has opened the Center for Historical Research "Gate of History". Its main task is to preserve and transfer reliable information about historical events, culture and spiritual heritage of the peoples of Dagestan to future generations.

The official opening ceremony was attended by the representatives of regional authorities, scientists, as well as religious and public figures. In his address to the participants of the event, the Acting Head of the Ministry for National Affairs of the Republic of Dagestan Enrik Muslimov noted the timeliness of creation of the Center, since in recent years, destructive forces increasingly made attempts to distort historical facts, especially the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945.

In turn, the chairman of Muftiyat of the Republic, Muhammad Mayranov said that knowledge of history was also important in terms of religion, since the Koran contains a lot of historical information.
