Makhachkala, June 27, 2017. By initiating the idea of construction of a literary bench in Makhachkala, the director of the municipal Centralized Library System Zulpat Ushanova and the deputy of Kirov district legislative assembly Timur Aliyev, pursued the goal to develop conditions for the literary recreation in the capital of Dagestan and to cultivate interest to reading among the dwellers.

The new art object, installed opposite the entrance to the Central library of Makhachkala, represents a metal vandal-proof bench with soft seats. On one the side of the bench there is a case where books are stored. According to the authors’ idea, anyone can take a book out of the case free of charge or bring their own ones to make an exchange. Thus, the “library” gives an opportunity to develop bookcrossing as a trend among the young people.

As to Timur Aliyev, the idea of installing the literary bench appeared a year ago, when he was invited as a guest to the library for the "Biblioch" campaign. "Here I saw a lot of creative youth who read poetry and prose. So the idea was born to make a literary bench. Such a bench was installed in Hamburg, Germany. We had many options, settled on this. Anyone can sit, read a book or share his book. We plan to establish another one a little farther" - Aliyev shares.

In turn, the director of the Centralized Library System of Makhachkala Zulpat Ushanov expressed gratitude to the sponsor for the gift to the library. "We are very pleased that we have now installed the literary bench. This is a very good idea. The trick is that the townspeople can, after reading a book, transfer it to another. Timur Aliyev had long planned to install this bench, and now he put his idea into practice. So we are waiting for you to visit, come, see and read "- Ushanova has invited Makhachkala residents and guests of the capital to have a literary rest.
