Makhachkala, August 31, 2015. The VI International Festival of Tourism Films "Rendezvous with Russia" held these days in Sevastopol has the "Open Russia to Russians" motto, a spokesperson says. Within the framework of the Festival the local residents can show a film about the city of Derbent.

According to the source, 30 documentaries, animation programs and feature films on travel across Russia will be presented in Sevastopol. Among them, the film "Dagestan – the territory of tourism. Derbent - 2000". "For the spectators this is a priceless opportunity to see and assess the tourism potential of Dagestan and the beauty of ancient Derbent" – the spokesperson noted.

According to the representative of Dagestan in Crimean Federal District, today in terms of import substitution and the focus on domestic tourism, the opportunities for tourism in Dagestan should be significantly expanded. To achieve this, we will have to exclude the republic from the list of regions limited with only tour and museum tourism.

Of particular interest, according to Dagestan representative, are the movies in the category "Faces of Russia", in which the young filmmakers tried to show the life and the "character" of the whole region through the personality of a single common person. They succeeded in displaying uniqueness and originality of every corner of the vast country, to get familiarized the residents with equidistant regions especially the mentality of each other, open worldwide appeal and originality of the tourist destination "Russia". These are the tasks put in front of organizers and the participants of the festival.
