Makhachkala, April 15, 2018. A resident of the village of Yaryksu located in Novolaksky district of the Republic of Dagestan Zalimkhan Vagabov breeds royal pheasants and peacocks in the hen-house instead of the usual roosters and chickens.
Easy in care, beautiful and unusual - this is how Zalimkhan characterizes his feathered pets. In the village of Yaryksu, the visitors from all over the district come to watch the beautiful birds which can be seen only in the zoo.

The first peacock appeared in the farmer's house accidentally. It was presented for his birthday. This was the love at first sight for the whole big family. Zalimkhan decided to breed rare birds for his granddaughters. The girls admire the pets and learn how to preserve the nature.

Zalimkhan Vagabov brought several peacocks from India. He specially flew to the distant country and received permit for the export of exotic birds. Despite the difference in climatic conditions, the peacocks adapted to Dagestan climate. Apart from them, the farmer breeds silvery, hunting and royal pheasants.

In future, Vagabov intends to develop the idea of rural tourism in the district.
