Makhachkala, January 9, 2018. A new route for lovers of extreme tourism is being arranged for the next tourist season in Untsukulsky district of Dagestan, the press service of the Ministry of Tourism and Folk Arts of the Republic of Dagestan reports.

"The new tour route can be interesting for the extreme climbers and alpinists. The metal structures will allow the tourists to safely overcome the Gorge of seven waterfalls. The site will also be equipped with a safety rope and steel staples for the new tourist season. The extreme lovers may not travel abroad, for we are waiting for them in our republic " - the ministry official said.

The Gorge of seven waterfalls is located near the village of Irganay. The waterfalls are cascaded. The end point of the route is almost at the top of the Gimry ridge towering over the gorge. Here is the main waterfall of the cascade with its height of 54 m. The extreme tour begins with the overcoming of a hard-to-reach road that leads to the water cascades by off-road vehicles. There is a lake, where the tourists may swim in hot weather and stay in the guest house on the shore of the Irganaisky reservoir in the village of Shamilkala.

As reported earlier, in 2017, the tourist flow to the republic increased by more than 18%, mainly due to the ethno-cultural and extreme tourism.
