Exhibition "Remember! Soviet Soldier Saved the World from Fascism!" opens in Makhachkala

Makhachkala, April 20, 2015. An exhibition named "Remember! Soviet Soldier Saved the World from Fascism!" timed to the 70th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War opens April 20 at the Museum of Russian Peoples’ Friendship of the House of Friendship in Makhachkala, a source in the museum told RIA Dagestan.

The exhibition, organized in partnership with Dagestan Central State Archive features extensive documentary materials that reflect the life, the front heroism and the heroic labour of Dagestani peoples during the Great Patriotic War – the military literature, propaganda posters, documents on children's homes, front-line photo albums, and letters of from the front, documents on the 91st Red Army Melitopol Infantry Division formed in Dagestan in 1941 in the vicinity of Makhachkala and Buynaksk.

The opening ceremony will be attended by Dagestan minister of national policy Tatiana Gamalei, her deputy - director of the House of Friendship Tekrar Akhmedov, director of Dagestan Central State Archive Olga Bekaeva, Dagestan Human Rights Commissioner Ummupazil Omarova, head of the Museum of Russian Peoples' Friendship Ekaterina Didkovskaya, commander of the Republican TOX [TV brigades of local historians and searchers] retired KGB General-Major Omar Murtazaliyev, cadets of the Makhachkala Cadet Boarding School "Dagestan First Cadet Corps", officials from Dagestan Public Chamber, the interregional public movement "I’m Assistant to President", the republican organization "Russian Union of Afghanistan Veterans", and students and staff of Dagestani universities.
