Economic foundations of civil society in Daghestan to be discussed at conference in Makhachkala

Makhachkala, September 30, 2014. Economic foundations of building a civil society in today’s Dagestan will be a topic to discuss at a scientific conference to be held September 30 at the Gamzatov National Library in Makhachkala, a source in Daghestan Ministry of National Policy told RIA "Dagestan".

The event is organized by the republican Ministry of Economy and Regional Development and the Ministry of National Policy. The organizing committee is comprised of heads of ministries and departments and officials from Daghestan Public Chamber.

Participants will hear reports on the current state of the civil society and its development in Daghestan, interaction between public authorities and social-oriented non-profit organizations, prospects for building and developing a civil society in Daghestan, the role of civil society organizations in monitoring public procurements, support of Daghestan Head’s policy in public procurements, etc.

The conference will have sections like problems of building a civil society in Daghestan, developing private property as a fundamental institution of civil society (supporting entrepreneurship, developing private property), and the role of youth organizations in developing the civil society in Daghestan.

The conference starts 10 am, September 30.
