Derbent to host festival of national cultures of peoples of Dagestan

Makhachkala, August 19, 2015. The ancient city Derbent will host the festival of national cultures of the peoples of Dagestan entitled “Tradition”, a source in Dagestan House of Folk Arts of the republican ministry of culture reports.

It should be noted that the event will be held in Derbent on September 19 - the day of celebration of the 2000th anniversary of the ancient city of Russia.

The traditional culture of the peoples of Dagestan and other Russian regions will be presented on the festival. Dagestan creative groups, performers of folk songs and music and guests from the regions of Russia will perform within the framework of the III International Festival of Traditional Culture "Tsamauri".

The folklore ensembles will present fragments of national ceremonies, choreography, old songs to the accompaniment of folk musical instruments. The pandur players (a traditional music instrument) of the cities and districts of Dagestan will take part in the competition "Sounds Pandur!" for the prizes of Dagestan Head.

The national festival of the song "My song - my homeland - my Russia!" will complete the festive marathon at the Freedom Square.
